Natural Cotton
or Synthetic Microfiber?
Both Cotton & Microfiber are equally durable --both are made with commercial grade zippers and heavy thread. We can document 7 year old beds.
Both materials are machine washable. You can vacuum or brush off dog hairs from either fabric.
Microfiber feels silkier and more velvety -- it will retain its sheen.
Cotton feels more like cordoroy, some colors are brushed for a softer feel. Cotton will fade (like blue jeans) over constant use & laundering.
Neither is better -- your pet will love both -- the choice is personal.

100% Cotton is machine washable, pre-shrunk, upholstery grade (10-14oz) material. Cottons such as terra cotta, cranberry, wheat, artichoke have a brushed finish; others like wasabi, slate have a smooth twill finish. Our cotton is preshrunk, most of the colors are treated with a dirt and water repellent finish. We recommend washing on a cold setting and line drying or putting in the dryer on cool dry.
Microfiber is a smooth, velvety synthetic material, slightly more formal than cotton. We use upholstery-grade fabric, which has a polyester surface on a cotton backing. Microfiber is machine washable: it dries and brushes beautifully, retaining its original soft feel and luster. Most of our microfibers are textured with a diagonal swath or a slight crackle (camel, Dresden blue, fern, olive, wine). The tweeds (terra & multi) have slightly raised tweed lines. Pink, pecan, loden, khaki, onyx, navy, and copper have smooth finishes.
Polar fleece is a heavier-grade polyester fleece. It is machine washable and retains its snuggly appeal. Cats find it irresistible.
Tapestry is spectacular when showcased as the top of rectangular or round buddy beds, and it is shown to best effect with a complementary color in cotton or microfiber on the bottom. All our tapestry is machine-washable fabric which we finish by overlocking the edges to prevent fraying.
